Why we exist

Big-hearted care, in a real home

Behind Eliza's is a real person, a real family, and more than 16 years of caring for little ones as if they were her own.

Eliza grew up in Venezuela, in a family devoted to caring for others, her relatives ran a home looking after older adults. From a young age she was right there helping, and she discovered something that would shape her whole life: a natural gift for making people feel safe, seen and at home.

Years later, when she became a mother, it all came into focus. She wanted a place where her own children would be cared for just like at home, warm, personal, truly part of a family. She visited daycare after daycare, but the big franchises never felt right, so she decided to build the place she'd been looking for. That's how Eliza's Family Childcare was born.

More than sixteen years later, she's still here, watching children take their first steps, say their first words and grow into confident little people. The families who've trusted her over the years tell that story better than we ever could.

As a bilingual family, we've seen how naturally children pick up two languages when Spanish and English are simply part of daily life, sung, spoken and played, never drilled. And these aren't just any two languages: two of the most spoken languages in the world open doors for life, from new friendships to a real head start at school. That gift, paired with fresh homemade meals and completely screen-free days, is at the center of everything we do.

Here, children aren't a number in a big room. They're part of our family for a season of their lives, and we don't take that trust lightly.

The same loving faces, year after year

Eliza doesn't do this alone. Two caregivers have been part of this home for years, and they're a big reason children settle in so fast and families stay so long.

Home daycare vs. big centers

Why families choose a home over a center

Large centers rotate staff, group children into big rooms and often feel institutional. A licensed home daycare offers the opposite: consistency, warmth and a caregiver who's there every day. In fact, our caregivers have been with us for 4 and 10 years, the same familiar, loving faces your child sees and trusts year after year.

For infants and toddlers especially, that stability is everything, it's how secure attachment and confident little explorers are made.
